EX400NY – End of Year Rollover For NY Exemptions

This process rolls New York exemptions over to a new tax year on the basis of data specified on the Status Code For New York Exemptions – EX29 screen.

In concept, this process would be run once a year. However, if a jurisdiction, such as Nassau, needs to create a tentative roll for a new tax year before the previous tax year is final, special arrangements may be made.

It is recommended that this process be run when no one is on the database, such as overnight.

Note:   The specific fields with permissible entries to be filled in or left blank are listed below. Ignore fields that are not in the list next to the screen images.

  1.    Job: Keep the job data that appears, starting with EX400NY.

  2.    Server Name: Keep the server name that    appears or select a different server.

  3.    Printer_Name: Keep the printer name that appears or leave it blank.

  4.    Jurisdiction: Keep the jurisdiction that appears or enter a different jurisdiction.

  5.    Tax Year: Keep the tax year that appears or enter a different tax year. This is the tax year from which data will be rolled over.

  6.    Spool File Name: Keep the file name that appears, i.e., EX400NY.lis.

 17.   [PARAM1] New Tax Year: Enter the tax year to which data will be rolled over.

 18.   [PARAM2] Create EX12 (EXDET) Y / N: Enter N to not create exemption details at this time. Enter Y in the unlikely event that all exemption rules were already entered for the new year and you want to create exemption details.

Press [Submit Job]. The system will notify you when the process is finished.

This process does not produce a report for end users.
